People’s Micro – commerce Ltd. (PML) has been awarded the Gold Award in the Microfinance Sector at the prestigious Best Management Practices Company Awards 2026 (BMPC Awards), organized by the Institute of Chartered Professional Managers of Sri Lanka.
Held for the fifth consecutive year, the BMPC Awards recognize outstanding public and private sector organizations for excellence in management practices. The awards evaluate performance across critical dimensions such as leadership, strategy, people management, partnerships and resources, processes and performance outcomes providing a structured framework for organizations to benchmark and continuously improve.
PML’s recognition comes on the back of a year of exceptional growth and transformation. The company expanded its portfolio growth of over 225%, positioning PML as one of the largest microfinance entities in Sri Lanka.
Importantly, this rapid expansion has been achieved alongside a strong commitment to best-in-class management practices. The award acknowledges PML’s focus on embedding core microfinance principles such as customer protection, responsible lending, financial inclusion, ethical recovery practices, transparency and client centric product design ensuring sustainable and socially responsible growth.
Commenting on the achievement, Chairman Mr.Dulinda Perera stated:

ශ්රී ලංකා වරලත් වෘත්තීය කළමනාකාරුවන්ගේ ආයතනය විසින් සංවිධානය කරන ලද Best Management Practices Company Awards 2026 (BMPC Awards) උළෙලේදී, ක්ෂුද්ර මූල්ය ක්ෂේත්රයේ රන් සම්මානය දිනාගැනීමට පීපල්ස් මයික්රෝ – කොමර්ස් ලිමිටඩ් (PML) ආයතනය සමත්ව ඇත.
පස් වන වරටත් අඛණ්ඩව පැවැත්වූ මෙම සම්මාන උළෙල, රාජ්ය හා පෞද්ගලික අංශවල ආයතනයන්හි විශිෂ්ට කළමනාකරණ ක්රමවේද හඳුනාගෙන අගය කිරීම අරමුණු කරගෙන පවත්වනු ලබයි. නායකත්වය, ආයතනික උපාය මාර්ග, මානව සම්පත් කළමනාකරණය, ආයතනික සහයෝගීතා සහ සම්පත් කළමනාකරණය, මෙහෙයුම් ක්රමවේද හා කාර්ය සාධන ප්රතිඵලදායීතාවය වැනි මූලික ක්ෂේත්ර මත පදනම්ව මෙම සම්මාන ප්රදානය සිදු කෙරේ.
PML ආයතනය මෙම ගෞරවය හිමි කරගත්තේ පසුගිය වසර තුළ ලබාගත් විශිෂ්ට වර්ධනය සහ පරිවර්තනය මතය. සමාගම සිය ණය කළඹ 225 % කට අධික වර්ධනයක් වාර්තා කර ඇත. මෙම සාර්ථකත්වයත් සමඟ PML ආයතනය ශ්රී ලංකාවේ ප්රමුඛතම ක්ෂුද්ර මූල්ය ආයතන අතර සුවිශේෂී ස්ථානයක් හිමිකරගෙන ඇත.
එමෙන්ම, මෙම ශීඝ්ර ව්යාප්තිය අත්කර ගෙන ඇත්තේ ඉහළම කළමනාකරණ ක්රමවේදයන් සඳහා වන දැඩි කැපවීමක් ද සමඟිනි. පාරිභෝගික රැකවරණය (customer protection), වගකීම් සහගත ණය ලබා දීම, මූල්ය අන්තර්ගතකරණය (financial inclusion), සදාචාරාත්මක ණය අයකර ගැනීමේ ක්රමවේද, විනිවිදභාවය සහ පාරිභෝගික කේන්ද්රීය නිෂ්පාදන සැලසුම් වැනි මූලික ක්ෂුද්ර මූල්ය මූලධර්ම ස්ථාපිත කරමින්, තිරසාර මෙන්ම සමාජීය වශයෙන් වගකිවයුතු වර්ධනයක් සහතික කිරීමට PML ආයතනය දක්වන ලද විශේෂ අවධානය මෙම සම්මානය මඟින් ඇගයීමට ලක්ව ඇත.
මෙම ජයග්රහණය පිළිබඳ අදහස් දක්වමින් සභාපති දුලින්ද පෙරේරා මහතා ප්රකාශ කළේ,
“මෙම සම්මානය තුළින් ශක්තිමත්, වගකීම් සහිත සහ තිරසාර ආයතනයක් ගොඩනැගීමට ඇති අපගේ කැපවීම පිළිබිඹු කරයි. අපගේ වර්ධනය වේගවත් වුවද, සැමවිටම අපගේ අවධානය යොමු වන්නේ ශක්තිමත් පාලන ක්රමවේද, ගනුදෙනුකරුවන්ගේ විශ්වාසය සහ දිගුකාලීන වටිනාකම් නිර්මාණය කිරීම ” යනුවෙනි.
එමෙන්ම, ප්රධාන විධායක නිලධාරී වසන්ත ගුණවර්ධන මහතා සඳහන් කළේ,
“අපගේ සාර්ථකත්වය ක්රමවත්ව හා විනයානුකූලව ක්රියාත්මක කිරීම, ක්ෂේත්ර මට්ටමේ ශක්තිමත් සම්බන්ධතාව සහ ගනුදෙනුකරුවන් පිළිබඳ ගැඹුරු අවබෝධය මත පදනම් වී ඇත. එමෙන්ම මෙහෙයුම්, මානව සම්පත් සහ තාක්ෂණය වෙත සිදු කළ සැලකිය යුතු ආයෝජන හරහා, තිරසාර හා දිගුකාලීන වර්ධනයක් සුරක්ෂිත කිරීමට අප කැපවී සිටින බවයි. “
මෙම ජයග්රහණයත් සමඟ, ක්ෂුද්ර මූල්ය ක්ෂේත්රයේ විශිෂ්ටත්වය හා තිරසාර වර්ධනය ඉදිරියට ගෙන යමින්, සමාජයට අර්ථවත් දායකත්වයක් ලබාදීමට PML ආයතනය ඉදිරියටත් කැපවී සිටින බව තහවුරු වේ.
